What are PinButtons and why do I need them?

PinButtons (bookmarklets) are links that you add to your browser's Bookmarks Toolbar. They are an easy way to shorten and send the URL of any webpage or file in a single click.

We have created two PinButtons - PinTHIS, PinFILE.

Here is how they will look after you install them in Internet Explorer:

What is PinTHIS button?

Let's say you have found an interesting web page and want to shorten it for posting in your ezine, forum or just want to send it to your friend. While staying on that page you just click on PinTHIS button and get redirected to the PinURL site. The LongURL and Title fields will be prefilled with the URL and title of that page, and all you need to do is click "Make PinURL" button. Optionally you can add the meaningful name and secret key. Your new short link is ready.

Don't worry about leaving the site you just shortened - you will notice that at the top of every page of the PinURL.com site will be a link "back to the originating site" so you can go back easily. It's that simple.

What is PinFILE button?

Let's say you found an interesting link to a file or a nice image. You just right-click it, copy its link location to the clipboard and click the PinFILE button. PinURL.com link shortening form will be opened. You just paste the file's link into it (in case you are an Internet Explorer user this will be done automatically), add optional parameters if you wish, click "Make PinURL" button and your new short link is ready!

How do I install them?

It's easy! Follow the video below to install PinButtons to Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Safari users can simply drag button links to their bookmarks toolbar.
